TOURNAMENT VENUE
The inaugural Timberland Amateur will be held July 14-18 at Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, Arkansas. The course was designed by Kenneth Dye, Jr. and has received raves by all who have played it since its opening in May of 2013. Built in the rolling hills of Arkansas’s southern timberlands, Mystic Creek earned immediate acclaim from Golf Digest as one of the Best New Courses in the country when opened in 2013 and today is the number one public golf course in Arkansas. The course plays to 7529 from the Championship tees. The views will remind one of Augusta with its towering Pines. The turtleback design of many of the greens will bring to mind Pinehurst #2, with bunkers inspired by the designs of A.W. Tillinghast. Mystic Creek promises an unforgettable experience and that will test the skills of the best players in the world. The Tournament Committee hopes to do just that by attracting as many of the best collegiate, amateur and mid-amateur players in the world to come compete on this magnificent golf course. Mystic Creek Golf Club has hosted many events over the years since it opened such as the Sunbelt Conference Tournament for five years and the Epson Woman’s Tour. We hope this tournament becomes an annual event.
